The Vedic tradition of worship in this temple is based on Mahalakshmi Ratnakosha,
a rare manuscript brought to light by the vedic scholar & retired principal of Mylapore
Samskrit College Dr K.V.Seshadrinatha Sastrikal. He was recently awarded the title of
Maha Mahopadhyay by the Kanchi pontif Sri Vijayendra Saraswati.
